Two minors were arrested after they were tagged as suspects in the rape of another minor in Leganes town, Iloilo Friday afternoon. 

The Leganes Police Station said that alias Pirot, 17 was arrested around 10:00 p.m. at Jaro Public Plaza while alias Renzo, 17, a fourth year high school student, voluntarily surrendered to the La Paz Police Station. 

According to police investigators, the two suspects and the 14-year-old girl, together with some friends, decided to go to the beach in Brgy. Camangay, Leganes and indulged in binge drinking.

The girl claimed that while she was using the shower, the two suddenly barged inside and raped her.

When the rape was over, the girl informed her family about what happened.

She was then fetched at the beach resort and they went to the police station to have the incident booked.

Last January 31, a 23-year-old tricycle driver was also arrested after raping a 23-year-old woman at Brgy. Calaboa, Leganes.

The victim, who is working at a KTV bar in the nearby Zarraga town, rode on the tricycle to bring her to Leganes.

But even before reaching her destination, the suspect allegedly forced himself into the woman.

The driver is presently detained at the lock-up cell of Leganes Police Station pending the filing of charges against him.*
