2 teeners nabbed while staging  a robbery with loaded handgun
Two 18-year-old boys added to the growing list of election gun ban offenders in Western Visayas after they were caught in possession of a loaded caliber .38 revolver after trying to rob a 20-year-old pedestrian in front of Gaisano Capital mall in La Paz, Iloilo City around 3:30 p.m. yesterday.
The offenders are Clyde Edez, 18 of Brgy. South San Jose, Molo, Iloilo City and Kant Yturriaga, 18, of Brgy. Zamora, Iloilo City.
Police accounts said that R.K. Moscardon, of Rizal St., La Paz, was walking when Edez, at gunpoint, grabbed the former’s bag containing a laptop.
Moscardon allegedly put up a fight and grappled for the possession of his bag, prompting Edez to shoot him but missed.
Help came immediately after PO3 Jebron Asino of the Iloilo Police Provincial Office (IPPO), passed by the area.
Asino and PO1 Michael Tabag of the La Paz Police Station, then ran after Edez and Yturriaga and collared them.
Edez and Yturriaga are now detained at the lock-up cell of the La Paz Police Station pending the filing of criminal cases against them.
Chief Inspector Alexander Rosales, La Paz police chief, said that they have no previous criminal records in the area.*
