Even before charges could be slapped against him, the suspect in an armed robbery Saturday afternoon already posted bail a day after his arrest.
Chief Inspector Gilberto Gorero, Jaro police chief, confirmed that Archie de Goma was temporarily released from incarceration after posting a P44,000 bailbond.
His release order was signed by Executive Judge Danilo Galvez of the Regional Trial Court (RTC) VI in Iloilo City.
As stated in the police blotter, de Goma was arrested for complaints of robbery, resisted arrest, and violation of election gun ban.
De Goma, along with another man, allegedly robbed P80,000 and mobile phones from a sari-sari store owned by Pastor Calamcaman at Brgy. Dungon-B, Jaro, Iloilo City.
They were allegedly armed with a homemade calibre .38 revolver and a hand grenade.
Goma was arrested four hours later but no money was found in his possession.
His alleged cohort remains at large, as of presstime.
The arrested suspect, Gorero said, is a notorious robber and has linked up with other seasoned robbers in Iloilo City.
A week before the robbery, the group was tailed to have met up.
Police then kept a tight watch on financial institutions like pawnshops, banks, and lending institutions.
But instead of targeting a big haul, the group has decided to hit a run-of-the-mill store.*
