Pagasa: No dry season yet, ‘Amihan’ still lingers in PH

E-mail Print PDF

The Pagasa or Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration yesterday said despite the hot weather the country is experiencing, it is not yet ready to announce that summer is here.

Weather Forecaster Jori Loiz said that northeast monsoon or “Amihan” is not gone yet and may still bring moments of cold weather.

Loiz said the temperature during the early mornings is still low, although it had been rising in the  past days.

He said the formal announcement that summer has arrived may be made once the northeast monsoon is totally gone and the warm winds from the east affect the country.

He added that the easterlies, or warm winds from the east, are now the weather system affecting the country for two to three days.*PNA
