Twenty-six colleges in Western Visayas plan to increase their tuition fees and miscellaneous fees during the school opening on June 2013.
According to a Bombo Radyo report, 12 colleges are in Iloilo, seven in Bacolod City, two in Aklan, two in Antique and the rest, are in Negros Occidental.
In an interview over the said radio station, Dr. Rex Casiple, chief education specialist of the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) Region 6, said that before these colleges can increase their fees, they have to comply with five requirements.
One of the requirements was the conduct of a consultation last February 28.
