One of the city mayor's executive assistants, Joren Sartonio is now head of the General Services Office (GSO) of the Iloilo City Government and he now occupies a permanent post.

Reportedly, former city administrator Melchor Tan will fill the post that Sartonio left vacant.

Is this a political strategy considering that the filing of candidacy for the May 13, 2013 local and national elections is four months away?
