President Benigno Aquino III said that part of his New Year’s resolution is to revive the Cabinet Assistance System as well as give hope to every Filipino in the year of the Water Dragon.

And speaking of hope, how will our fellowmen in Cagayan de Oro and Iligan, who are suffering at the heels of typhoon “Sendong”, start a new life this 2012?

Unlike the president, these typhoon victims don’t have resolutions to fulfill, only the hope within their hearts and the courage to recover from life’s adversity and to be able to live a normal life.

In making our own New Year’s resolution, may we include in the list not just our personal preferences but steps to help our unfortunate brothers and sisters in CDO and Iligan as well as support our president in putting the Philippines in a better position.*
