The President’s lovelife has became a trending topic on Twitter and other social networks recently.

What diverted the Filipinos’ attention from the momentous impeachment trial against Chief Justice Renato Corona, was President Benigno Aquino III’s revelation that he and 29-year-old South Korean TV host/DJ Grace Lee are seeing each other.

Some netizens complained that he’s supposed to pay attention to the worsening situation of the country, not to attend to his lovelife.

The bachelor president did not provide further details regarding their current status, citing his constitutional right to privacy.  Lee remains silent, too.

To recall, the president has been linked to various personalities like Valenzuela City Councilor Shalani Soledad, stylist Liz Uy, Bais City Mayor Karen Villanueva, Cebu Governor Gwendolyn Garcia, actress Iza Calzado, etc.

Can we at least give our president a break? He’s not getting any younger and he deserves to find happiness in love amid fixing the country’s long list of problems. His having a relationship does not mean he will forget his responsibilities as the country’s leader.*
