Was it because of the missing rosary?

There were speculations that Filipino boxing icon Manny Pacquiao lost his fourth match against Mexican boxer Manuel Marquez because he ditched his rosary on the day of the bout.

People were used to seeing Manny wear a rosary and making the sign of the cross whenever he has a match in the last seven years. But he did not do these things last Saturday, thus some people blamed it for his misfortune.

Baptized as a Catholic, Pacquiao has shifted to the Protestant faith and has allowed some pastors to live with him in his mansion.

According to previous reports, these pastors were accused of abusing Manny’s generosity by asking for money and other material things.

Even his mother, Mommy Dionisia, blamed those pastors for Manny’s loss.

So, what caused Manny’s loss? The missing rosary? The band of pastors? The shift in religion? 

Or is it a sign that he should retire from boxing?

But whatever it is, Manny has done so many good things to the Filipino people. He has used his blessings to help those in need, has united every Filipino during his fight (police note a zero crime rate whenever he has a fight) and will forever be our country’s pride.

Don’t let his defeat erase what he has done for our country.*
