Another two hundred twenty-four recipients of the Tesda Specialista Technopreneurship Program (TSTP) in the province of Iloilo will receive starter tool kits which they could use in starting a business.
The Department of Labor and Employment (Dole) turned over on Wednesday (Dec. 13) a check worth P999,661.00 to Governor Arthur Defensor Sr. during the opening of the Jobs Fair at the Provincial Capitol lobby.
TSTP is the Technical Education and Skills Development Agency’s (Tesda) holistic approach to skills development. It caters to the following community-based service aggrupations: Appliance Repair Services, Food and Beverage Services, Building/House Repair and Maintenance Services, Household Services, Health Care Services, Massage Therapy/Hilot Wellness, and Automotive Servicing.
Public Employment Service Office (Peso)-Iloilo manager Francisco Heler Jr. said with the tool kits, the Tesda trained and certified workers could already start their own business or livelihood.
To note, hundreds of trained and certified workers from Iloilo province have already received starter tool kits from Dole.
Governor Defensor thanked the Tesda for helping the workers, especially the youth, develop skills which they could use to earn a living.
He stressed the provincial government under his administration always allocate counterpart funds for the Tesda programs in recognition of its usefulness and importance in uplifting the lives of the people. (ECGarcia/ Capitol News)
