All the eight mayors of the Second District of Iloilo have pledged support to the reelection bid of Governor Arthur Defensor, Sr. in the 2013 elections.

Mayors Juanito Alipao of Alimodian, Enrique Rojas of Leganes, Rolito Cajilig of Leon, Liezel Mondejar-Seville of New Lucena, Arcadio Gorriceta of Pavia, Victor Saclauso of San Miguel, Dennis Superficial of Sta. Barbara and Gregorio Brazas of Zarraga signed a statement of support and declaration of commitment for the reelection bid of Gov. Defensor last May 21, 2012.

"We the Mayors of the eight municipalities of the Second Congressional District of Iloilo, reaffirm our trust and confidence in Governor Arthur Defensor, Sr., a truly visionary and transformational leader, inspirational role model, and an ever-present brother in times of need and trials," the Mayors stated in their manifesto.

Earlier, Defensor declared that he will be seeking for reelection next year.

Nearly two years after he regained the governorship, Defensor has restored the people's trust and confidence on the Iloilo provincial government.

He brought a government that is transparent and accountable which gained for him numerous citations from various sectors.

Defensor also made sure that the voices of the local chief executives are heard and the needs of the municipalities are addressed. (ECGarcia/ Capitol News)
