Teaching remains the most favored profession in the country, according to the data released by the Philippine Regulation Commission (PRC) through the Bureau of Labor and Employment Statistics and released during the celebration of the 12th National Statistics Month recently.
According to the report, of the 3.2 million registered professionals in 50 registered professions in the country, 1,141,770 million are professional or registered teachers.
Next to teachers are registered nurses at 756,624; Midwives - 169,469; Accountants - 145,209; Civil Engineers - 123,872; Physician - 114,099; Mechanical Engineer - 78,678; Marine Deck Officers - 73,250; Criminologist - 69,071; Marine Engineer Officer - 63,879; Pharmacist - 61,091; Medical Technologist - 58,670; Electronics Engineer - 51,541; and Dentist - 51,446.
Labor Secretary Rosalinda Dimapilis-Baldoz cited the PRC for the growth of the country’s professional sector.
