ROXAS CITY – Due to intense political rivalry and insurgency, 60 probable election hot spot barangays in Capiz need priority attention, according to Capiz Police Director Domingo Cabillan.

Of the 60 election areas of concerns, 10 barangays were identified in Maayon and nine in Cuartero, eight in Pilar, six each in Dumarao and President Roxas, five each in Sigma and Mambusao, three in Dumalag and two each in Panitan, Sapian, Jamindan and Tapaz.

He said that the active involvement of the community will greatly help the PNP’s thrust in ensuring honest, peaceful, free and orderly elections next year.

Cabillan likewise said the PNP’s Public Safety Company, the Barangay Peacekeeping Action Teams (BPATs) and the other volunteer groups will be their force multipliers in maintaining peace and order in Capiz.*PIA
