Here’s a Facebook post from journalist Pet Melliza which reminds us again of the water crisis that Ilonggos are facing.

“Nangbwisit naman MIWD. Since yesterday, its tap can't even fill up a bucket the whole day of opening your faucet. Same woeful story of inefficiency today. I want to save MIWD. I have joined the movement to frustrate a handful of greedy capitalists out to privatize it. The "shortage" that we experienced yesterday and today in the Mandurriao area is artificial. It is programmed to condition the public's mind to accept privatization. That's similar to what Patay Electric did in 2007-1009 by recurrent weekly brownouts to condition the public to accept the coal fired power plant.”

He added, “Today, Patay Power Development Corporation (PEDC), owner of the two coal fired power plants in Iloilo City, still failed to lower power prices circa 2007 level (when it shouted it would lower power price). That will happen, too, once MIWD falls into private hands. The biggest single force forcing its privatization is porky pine, the man whom God Almighty blessed with a bloated face and triple chin.”
