The Iloilo Provincial Capitol under Gov. Arthur Defensor Sr. committed to provide counterpart funds to the Department of Social Welfare and Development’s (DSWD) Kalahi-CIDDS (Kapit-Bisig Laban sa Kahirapan-Compreshensive and Integrated Delivery of Services) program in the town of San Rafael.

During the municipal inter-barangay forum held at the town’s covered court last Monday, November 19, Defensor said the province has allotted P450,000 to the nine barangays that are recipients of the Kalahi-CIDSS projects and another P350,000 for the municipality.

The nine recipient barangays, namely, Adipdip, Bagacay, Calaigang, Ilongbukid, Poblacion, Poscolon, San Andres, San Dionisio and San Florentino will receive P50,000 each as the province’s counterpart for their projects.

It was learned that the DSWD allotted P4.5 million for various Kalahi-CIDDS projects in San Rafael.

Defensor said the Kalahi-CIDSS Makamasang Tugon Program is a big help in uplifting the lives of people in the barangays especially in the far-flung areas.*Capitol
