A househelp was found dead Wednesday afternoon inside her employer's house at Phase 1, 2nd Street, Alta Tierra Village, Jaro, Iloilo City.
Ruby Ann Mondejar, from Guimaras province, succumbed to a lone stab wound on her chest.
Her employers' son, 18-year old Bill Bryan Deocampo, discovered Mondejar bathing on her pool of blood when he went home from school around 3:30 p.m..
Bryan said that when he arrived, the steel gate and main door were already opened.
Police reports said the house's master bedroom and the cabinet inside were in a mess.
But Chief Inspector Gilbert Gorero, Jaro police chief, noted that there was no sign of forcible entry in the house.
The television set was also turned on suggesting that Mondejar was probably watching the TV while the "visitor" arrived.
"It is possible that she knew the suspect," Gorero said.
According to the scene-of-the-crime operations (SOCO) team, the victim has been dead for about 2 to 3 hours when found.
Initially, only an M16 armalite rifle was found missing.
But aside from robbery, "we are also looking at other angles," Gorero said, like a possible conflict between the family and the suspect.
It was gathered that Bryan lives in their ancestral house together with the lone househelp. At nighttime, Bryan's uncle accompanies the duo.
Owned by Bryan's grandparents, the house is run by his parents who are now based in the United States.
Bryan just went home recently and enrolled himself at a university in Iloilo City.*
