Ilonggos can now avail of the PhilHealth services while they are in a mall as the national health insurer launched yesterday the PhilHealth Express at the Second Floor of Robinsons Place Iloilo.
Dr. Dennis Mas, regional vice president of Philippine Health Insurance, Corp. or PhilHealth for Western Visayas, said these service facilities are installed in areas with high client density, such as a mall where people converged. The PhilHealth Express in Iloilo City is the second hub to be launched in the region, with the first one launched in Robinsons Place Bacolod.
Mas said it plans to open eight more all over the region, namely in: Guimbal, San Carlos City in Negros Occidental, Passi City in Iloilo, Roxas City in Capiz and Kalibo in Aklan.
“This is to make our services accessible to our members, so, our members can go to these PhilHealth expresses in Region 6 to register, amend their data, pay their premiums and follow up the status of their claims,” he said.
He said the strategic high volume population of malls can draw more people to be enrolled to the National Health Insurance Program which targets universal health coverage for all Filipinos.
PhilHealth Express is open during mall hours from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. the whole week.
“I also encourage our working public who are confined in their respective offices from Mondays to Fridays to have their PhilHealth transactions during the weekend,” Mas said.
Meanwhile, Mas also noted other ways PhilHealth members can avail of services other than in the malls such as PhilHealth MOVES (Mobile Orientation, Validation, and Enrollment Scheme) and PhilHealth CARES (Customer Assistance, Relations and Empowerment Staff).
Under PhilHealth MOVES, PhilHealth teams who visit LGUs to distribute cards can also accommodate members who want to have their data amended while under PhilHealth CARES, registered nurses were tasked to assist members who are in the hospital.*
