Priests, lay treasurers to hold national confab

BACOLOD CITY – About 140 participants from dioceses all over the country are expected to attend the 14th National Convention of Arch/Diocesan Financial Administrators of the Philippines on June 18 to 22 at the Bacolod Pavilion Hotel and Convention Center here.

Hosted by the Diocese of Bacolod, the event themed "Financial Integrity: A Pastoral Responsibility," will gather diocesan priests, lay treasurers, and administrators.

Also expected to arrive are Archbishop John Du of Palo, Leyte, and Bishops Jose Advincula, Julito Cortes, Honesto Ongtioco, and Nereo Odchimar.

Bacolod Bishop Vicente Navarra will be the main celebrant during the eucharistic celebration with the delegates at the San Sebastian Cathedral at 6 p.m. on June 18. It will be followed by a dinner at the St. John Marie Vianney Hall of San Sebastian Cathedral.

The five-day convention will include talks on legal aspects, unified accounting system, investments, and a report on the Catholic Bishops Conference of the Philippines Pension Plan Fund.*NLG
