BACOLOD CITY – A high school student was killed while three others were injured in a road accident in San Carlos City, Negros Occidental Wednesday.

Police identified the fatality as Jeffrey Paz, 15, a sophomore at Bagonbon National High School (BNHS). He was declared dead at San Carlos Doctors' Hospital.

Among those injured were BNHS principal Jocelyn Sumilhig and another student Peachy Ardiente.

Senior Police Officer 1 Noven Lacson of San Carlos City Police Station said the victims were boarding a jeepney from the city proper going to barangay Bagonbon, and most of the passengers were teachers and students.

The driver lost his brakes while passing through a descending road, and while he avoided a cliff, the jeepney turned to its side.*NLG
