DOT to unveil new tourism ad worldwide

A new promotional material for the Philippines will soon be unveiled by the Department of Tourism (DOT) in Russia, Europe and other Southeast Asian countries.

Two advertisements that were shot in Boracay Island were first shown in Iloilo City during the 2nd Western Visayas Business Forum yesterday.

The commercials depict how foreigners have embraced the Filipino culture and enjoy the richness of the country’s natural resources such as its pristine beaches.

DOT Secretary Ramon Jimenez Jr., who was the guest of honor during the forum, emphasized that the advertisements are not necessarily just all about traveling but also how to live here in the Philippines.

The DOT also announced other projects such as the world's largest fruit market in Davao where every product is made of fruits -- from fruit juices to handicrafts made of fruit; Coconut Tourism Facility in Quezon Province -- a showcase of Filipinos using every part of the coconut tree; and the Rice-Agri Tourism in Naga which presents 12 different kinds of rice products.*PNA
