Megaworld partners with int’l design firm for hotel project
Iloilo will get to experience luxurious amenities in a hotel with world-class designs as Megaworld Corporation partners with the international design firm Gettys, for its P500-million Richmonde Hotel project.
The partnership, according to Jericho Go, Megaworld’s first vice president “is a testament of their commitment to provide a truly world-class development to the people of Iloilo and the entire region of Western Visayas.”
Go said the interior of Richmonde will be a mixture of the old and modern Iloilo.
Gettys is one of the world’s most awarded international firm that has designed more than 800 projects around the world, mostly in the United States of America, Macau, China and the Middle East.
The design of the Richmonde Hotel in Iloilo, according to Ariane Steinbeck, said that the hotel’s interior is inspired by the region’s most important agricultural crop, the sugarcane.
“Our inspiration is the history of the region,” said Steinbeck.
Steinbeck said that the sugarcane incorporated in the hotel’s color, texture and finishes will result to a relaxing environment that will make Richmonde, a “go-to place” for both hotel guest and the locales.
Meanwhile, Carmen Fernando, managing director of Prestige Hotels and Resorts, Inc., the management company of Richmode Hotel Iloilo and sister company of Megaworld, said “Iloilo will now have a top-notch hotel service at a reasonable price.”
Richmonde Hotel which is now under construction is comprised the eight floors of the 12-storey Richmonde Tower. The first three floors of the tower will be allocated for business process outsourcing (BPO) offices.
Richmonde Hotel will have a capacity of 151 rooms. It will house a restaurant and deli, function rooms, business center, fitness gym as well as a lap pool with its own pool bar.
It will also have its own access to the much-anticipated Iloilo Convention Center, which is expected to host one of the side meetings of the Asia Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) summit in 2015.*
