The Professional Regulation Commission 6 (PRC-6) launched yesterday the pilot testing of Online Application System to decongest the voluminous applicants, who are regularly transacting business at the regional office yesterday.
The PRC-6 caters to more than 500 applicants per day coming from other provinces in Western Visayas.
Commissioner Jennifer Jardin-Manalili said with this new program, applicants especially in far-flung areas can apply or encode its application form directly to PRC website using their own facility without spending too much money, time and effort.
To access application forms, just visit www.prc.gov.ph.
Manalili said an applicant will receive a notification from the PRC if his application was successfully uploaded and after the validation process, the applicant will be advised to go to PRC office for processing and payment.
Since the program is new in Iloilo, the PCR has provided two computer units inside their office available for the applicants.
Manalili added they are tapping a public-private partnership with schools to make this program more successful.
Today, the University of San Agustin opens its laboratory with 30 computer sets for students and other applicants who wish to avail of PRC online application.
"This program was designed to make available to everyone although, we are still accepting hand-in applications since not all are literate to computer," she said.
APPLICATIONS
The PRC is now accepting applicants for nursing licensure examination, teachers' board and civil engineering.
PRC-6 Dir. Lily Ann Baldago said more applicants already applied using the OAS and they are expecting that through the help of tri-media, this information will be disseminated.
The OAS has been developed since last year and now, tested to other cities like Baguio, Davao, and Cebu.
There will be another launching in Cagayan de Oro this week after Iloilo.*
