SAN JOSE, Antique – In pursuit of strengthening the anti-insurgency and anti-criminality campaign, members of the Antique Provincial Public Safety Company (APPSC) will take over in the Community Police Assistance Center (COMPAC) located in Brgy. Egana, Sibalom, in this province.
Brgy. Egana is one of the biggest barangays in Sibalom and has the highest number of crime incidents recorded.
It is also an entrance and exit points to Iloilo and other adjacent towns, which criminals could use for escape or evasion from arrests.
Supt. Jose Roy Torrechilla, company commander of the APPSC, said the assumption of the post is way of addressing the communist-terrorists' threats, particularly in the boundaries of Sibalom and San Remigio.
The move, he said, is also in line with the reorganizing the APPSC to effectively perform their jobs of protecting the territorial boundaries of the province and in the maintenance of peace and order in every town, working with the local police stations.
Initially, the COMPAC will be manned by eight PNCO's and two PCO's that will render 24/7 duty.
With the APPSC manning the COMPAC, Antique Police Chief Ruperto Floro Jr. assured the community of Egana that the fear of crimes will be reduced due to heightened police visibility.
"I am seeking your full support to the police force of Antique, your cooperation and participation in crime prevention is the key to successful anti-criminality program of the PNP" Floro appealed.*
