E-mail Print PDF

BACOLOD CITY – A total of 2,180 indigent residents of Murcia, Negros Occidental received Negros Occidental Comprehensive Health Care Program (NOCHP) cards during a turn-over rites held early this week at the Murcia Sports and Cultural Center.

Third District Rep. Albee Benitez, Gov. Alfredo Maranon, Jr. and Mayor Andrew Montelibano distributed the health cards that the beneficiaries can use when they require medical attention or hospitalization.

Benitez said the NOCHP cards cover expanded services of what the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. cards used to guarantee.

Maranon said the NOCHP program is unique because it is being implemented under the tripartite cooperation of the provincial and municipal governments, and the congressional office of the Third District.

Montelibano, for his part, said "what is more significant is that, through the NOCHP, we are able to deliver a comprehensive health care program."*NLG
