ROXAS CITY, Capiz – The Department of Labor and Employment recently conducted a workshop to enhance the capacity of all Public Employment Service Office managers in the province.

The Basic Employment Services Training (BEST) workshop was held in partnership with the Bureau of Local Employment.

It targets to equip participants with necessary skills in providing technical support to the PESO to make it a one-stop shop that address the local and overseas employment needs of the job seekers in every town.

Based on DOLE6 records, Capiz has established 26 PESOs since the implementation of the PESO Act of 1999 to provide employment opportunities at the local level.

Aside from the local government units, PESO offices are also located at the Hercor College, Colegio dela Purisima Concepcion and Capiz State University campuses.

The PESO core functions include provision of labor market information, job matching, referral and placement, career coaching and employment counseling, and other services such as provision of livelihood assistance and reintegration of overseas Filipino workers.*PIA
