KALIBO, Aklan – The Province of Aklan was a recipient of aid in various forms from Kasangga Partylist headed by Rep. Teodorico Haresco.
The aid was distributed during the Foundation Anniversary celebration of the Province held here recently.
Eight indigent Aklanon with disabilities, who are from Stimulation and Therapeutic Activity Center here, received four small wheelchairs and four baby strollers.
The parents of the recipient babies received the wheelchairs and strollers which are seen to make the mobility of the young children easier and faster.
In the same opportunity, Kasangga also turned over a check worth P200,000 to Culdora Piña Cloth as financial assistance in support of its livelihood expansion project .
Culdora is one of Aklan's main loom woven piña cloth producers, which had also provided livelihood opportunities to Aklanons by employing them as piña fiber suppliers, weavers, etc.
The Kasangga also turned over one unit of "Mobile Kusina" to the Provincial Government of Aklan.
The "Mobile Kusina," said Haresco, will be a big help to enterprising Aklanons in selling food item needs to the public.
Haresco said the "Mobile Kusina" is complete with oven and thermo chests to keep food ingredients and could be taken to various places in a day to peddle foods to the public.
Haresco said the provincial government could give the "Mobile Kusina" to a cooperative that would operate it, but by next year, he is aiming to produce 100 more units for distribution to interested persons or groups.
Present during the turnover were Senator Franklin Drilon, Department of Transportation and Communication Undersecretary Jose Lotilla who represented Sec. Mar Roxas, Agham Partylist Rep. Angelo Palmones and former Rep. Riza Hontiveros Baraquel.*PIA
