ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Members of the Capiz Provincial Tripartite Industrial Peace Council will hold a motorcade on May 1 as part of the Labor Day celebration.
The activity, to be joined by about 20 vehicles, will start at the Provincial Capitol Grounds here and will pass through the city's major thoroughfares.
The motorcade, alongside with hanging of Labor Day streamers in workplaces, aim to raise public awareness on the importance of the celebration.
Department of Trade and Industry (DTI)-Capiz director Ermelinda P. Pollentes confirmed that there will be a "Diskwento Para Obrero" sale on May 15 at the Roxas City Public Plaza.
The DTI initiative aims to give the labor sector an alternative market of basic commodity products at low prices.
DOLE-6 Director Ponciano Ligutom said the Labor Day activities in the region are highlighted by the jobs fair in Iloilo and Bacolod cities with about 30,000 jobs for international and local placement will be opened to jobseekers.
"This year's theme, "Pagtutulungan. Pagbabago. Desenteng Trabaho" is a statement of convergence change and adherence," said Ligutom during a recent interaction with Capiz tri-media practitioners.*PIA
