Free to drive? Use it wisely.
And most of the time, we overuse our freedom on the road, thus, driving mishaps happen. "Driving is a privilege, not a right. Drivers should keep in mind that they are not the only one using the streets. If only they generously share the road and stay in their lane, it would somehow lessen the traffic and accidents," shares Renier Siva, an Ilonggo car audio enthusiast who is currently residing in Portola, California.
"I also observe people can park anywhere they want to. But I think, to achieve proper parking, each establishment should have its respective parking spaces," he adds.
Renier Casquete Siva was born and raised in the small barrio of Carigangan, Janiuay but earned his Master's Degree in Divinity in the US.
He also had his fair share of untoward incidents while driving which made him realize the importance of driving safely and responsibly. "I've been in three minor accidents. Good thing nobody got hurt. One night, I was driving in the city eastbound. Upon approaching an intersection, I saw this another SUV coming towards the intersection and somehow failed to stop. Perhaps, the driver didn't see me. Admittedly, I was driving a little bit faster than usual because I was in a hurry. I hit him on the left front side."
Ranier owns a 2006 Honda City iDSI for two years already and had it repainted, with tribal design, a simple horoscope, GT wing spoiler, a fully modified bumper, nice looking side skirting, with 17-inch rims, blue deflector underneath, and a 7-inch touch screen pioneer head unit.
"I've always been into cars while growing up, although I don't have the means. But poverty didn't stop me from dreaming that one day I'll have my own and I will make it an eye catcher."
He has a fair car stereo good for SQ (Sound Quality) and an RE XXX subwoofer, separates, and amps made in the USA. His audio is composed of one 12-inch sub powered by one XTX5000, one mono amp, two separates powered by two XT-1600.2 amps, one VLS/101, one cap 15 farad, and four tweeters. "To me, having a good car stereo is important because it somehow soothe me while driving. It helps me stay relax and focused. Sometimes I tur the volume up but not to the maximum level. My kind of music is slow rock so playing it to the maximum level spoils the mood."
He adds, "I believe that if you take good care of your car, it will do the same to you also. I try to wash it once a week, check the fuel engine regularly, and change the oil and other stuff."*
