A 'co-terminus' executive assistant to the city mayor is always seen using the City Government's vehicle in fetching his wife from the new Iloilo City Hall building. His wife is a regular employee of the City Government, occupying a higher position.
The name of the congressman, known for his "Uswag Iloilo" motto is pasted on that vehicle. Are we correct to assume that the said vehicle was donated by the lawmaker to the City Government in order to serve his purpose of "public information"?
If Senator Miriam Defensor-Santiago's proposed Anti-Epal or Anti-Wangwang Bill is approved, todas ka congressman!
Meanwhile, public officials are reminded to follow the Anti-Red Tape law. The Office of the Ombudsman-Visayas is hunting down government employees who use government vehicles without trip tickets or travel orders as doing so constitutes corruption.
