BACOLOD CITY – The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) is looking into the possibility that the two teenaged suspects in the grisly killing of Bacolod-based doctor Andres Gumban Jr. are also the ones who killed a gay call center agent inside a pension house in September last year.
Senior Supt. Ricardo de la Paz, city police director, said the manner by which Gumban was killed is similar to what happened to the 34-year-old Ian Sherwin Sandoval.
Sandoval, an employee of Transcom, was found naked and lifeless with multiple stab wounds under the bed in his room at Ester Pension House on Araneta St., Bacolod City. The victim checked in with an unidentified man the night before his body was found.
The suspects in the Gumban killing were identified as Fof Pascual Jr., 18, of Brgy. Tadlong, Sagay City, and a 16-year-old from Cadiz City. They are now detained at the BCPO lock-up cell while the police is waiting for an order from the court for their transfer to the Bureau of Jail and Management custody.
De la Paz said the two teen suspects, who admitted being "call boys," seemed to have an anger towards their victim with the way they killed Gumban.
Using the minor's mobile phone, the suspects even took a video of the killing which lasted for more than five minutes. At the end of the video, the minor showed his face, smiling and winking.
Gumban met the minor suspect on Facebook and invited him and his friend Pascual to come to Bacolod. He took them shopping in a mall before he brought them to his house in Barangay Alijis, where the two killed him.*NLG
