  • Roxas City mayor told to exercise 'fair treatment'

Residents of Barangay Libas appealed to Roxas City Mayor Angel Alan Celino to exercise "fair treatment" and end, as soon as possible, the conflict between their barangay officials.

"We are appealing to Mayor Celino to be fair in treating his constituents in Libas because we are his supporters in 2010 elections," said Nida Arrollado, a concerned resident.

Arrollado also said that Celino should put an end to the conflict between Barangay Captain Richard Arrojado and now Barangay Kagawad Solomon Alisasis to have peace in their place.

She said Celino defeated Former Mayor Vicente Bermejo in Libas with a margin of 591 votes and added that then village chief, Alisasis could not make it without their support.

Arrollado, along with other residents who are supporters of Arrojado, complained they no longer have PhilHealth cards and cannot avail of financial assistant from the city government since Celino assumed office.

Merly Mosquera and Marita Lorenzo complained that they failed to renew their cards, alleging that Asisasis removed their names from the list of beneficiaries.

On his part, Alisasis strongly denied that he deleted their names in the lists of PhilHealth beneficiaries but clarified that there were names deleted and names added.

"We are only following the law," Alisasis said apparently referring to the PhilHealth beneficiaries who were added and deleted from the list.

For the issue of financial assistance, Alisasis said he also experienced the same when he was still the village chief of Libas.

He said those indigents he recommended to ask financial assistance from former mayor Bermejo were not also given.

"Pa wether wether lang ni ah," he added.*
