Crime of passion: Robbery not motive in judge's wife, granddaughter slay

E-mail Print PDF

Aside from personal grudges, the murder of the wife and the granddaughter of Regional Trial Court Judge Daniel Dan Amular can also be a crime of passion, the National Bureau of Investigation revealed.

It can be noted that both 17-year-old Rodelyn Dioso (not Rubylin Deloso as earlier reported) and her grandmother, Sonia Amular, 68, were found dead at the family's pension house in Brgy. Ilaya, Barotac Nuevo, Iloilo last Monday.

In a phone interview, Police Officer 2 Samuel Dorilag, Barotac Nuevo PNP investigator said that based on the autopsy of the teenager's body conducted by the NBI, it was discovered that she was sexually molested and was stabbed to death 25 times.

The NBI is helping the police of Barotac Nuevo in the investigation.

Noting the investigation conducted by the NBI, Dorilag said a break-up letter by the victim to his boyfriend is a lead to the case.

He said that the NBI investigation revealed that Dioso was allegedly the main subject of the crime while the older victim was accidentally involved.

The autopsy also revealed that the victim had a hematoma on the left side of her genitalia indicative of slight penetration.

Of the 25 wound stab wounds, two were considered fatal, in her chest and abdomen.

To note, the naked body of the victim was found at the bathroom by a worker, Milo Guanzon, who was scheduled to do carpentry job on that day.

The body of the older victim was later found at the garden with her rain boots still on and was believed struck on her head by a hard object.

NBI investigation also revealed that the teenager tried to fight back as shown by the 'defense wound' found on her arms.

OTHER MOTIVE

Meanwhile, the possible motive of robbery was later dismissed.

Dorilag also said that there was no evidence or sign that pointed to Noel Alcantara, a former worker of the judge's family.

However, another worker Eduardo Alcantara, not related to Noel, still remains as a suspect in the crime.

He also said that Eduardo is still pending for further investigation by police.*
